A cloud case can be shared with colleagues, co-counsel and experts. Everyone you invite works in the same case, and changes sync between all members. Sharing needs a cloud case; see Cloud Cases and Sync.
Invite someone to a case
- Open the case, click the menu (three lines) in the top left corner and select Share. The Case Collaboration window opens.
- Under Invite people, enter one or more email addresses, separated by commas, and click Send invite.
- An invitation is sent by email. The person is listed under Members with invite sent until they have accepted. They need a Case Crafter account with that email address to open the case.
Once accepted, the case appears on the main page of the app on every device where the member is logged in, with the cloud icon on the case card.
Members and roles
The Members list shows everyone with access to the case and their role. The person who created the case is the Owner. People you invite are Contributors: they can open the case on their own devices and work in it, and their changes sync to everyone. The role menu next to a member lets the owner change the role.
Working together
Every member sees the same files, timeline events, tags and markup. A change made by one member is saved on their device first and then synced; it appears for the others once it has synced. The status bar at the bottom of the window shows whether your own changes have been synced.
You do not need to be online at the same time. Each member can work offline, and the changes merge when they are back online.
